I am excited to present my manifesto as I seek re-election for the GSU Officer position. In my previous term, I have been honored to serve as a dedicated advocate for the rights and needs of our diverse student body. Together, we've achieved significant milestones, and I am committed to building upon these successes to create an even more inclusive and empowering university experience.
Payment Plans for International Students: Understanding the financial challenges faced by our international students, I am currently lobbying for a clear and student-friendly payment plan. If granted the opportunity to continue serving as your GSU Officer, I will relentlessly pursue this goal, ensuring that our international students have access to transparent and feasible payment options.
Enhanced Employability Events: Preparing our students for life after education is paramount. I will organize and expand employability events, connecting students with industry professionals, workshops, and resources that equip them with the skills needed to thrive in their chosen fields.
Increased Job Opportunities: To enhance the student experience, I will work towards creating more job opportunities within the university. These opportunities will not only provide financial support but also valuable work experience, enriching the overall university journey for our students.
Amplifying Voices: During my tenure, I have worked tirelessly to amplify the voices of our BAME students, ensuring their concerns and perspectives are heard and addressed. I will continue to prioritize the representation and inclusion of all ethnic backgrounds, fostering an environment where every student feels valued and heard.
Diverse Dining Experience: Recognizing the importance of cultural diversity, I initiated efforts to diversify the food menu across our campus dining facilities. If re-elected, I will expand these initiatives, collaborating with food services to introduce even more diverse and culturally rich options, catering to the varied tastes of our student body.
Empowering Postgraduate Research: In response to the needs of our postgraduate students, I successfully secured centralized postgraduate research rooms across two of our campuses. I will build upon this achievement by working to enhance and expand these facilities, creating an environment conducive to advanced academic pursuits.
National Advocacy for International Students: I am passionate about championing the rights of international students on a national level. If re-elected, I will actively lobby for an increase in working hours for international students and seek additional funding to support societies within our campuses.
Transparent and Accessible Leadership: Throughout my tenure, I have prioritized transparency and accessibility. I commit to maintaining open communication channels, actively seeking student input, and ensuring that your concerns are promptly addressed.
