I am syed kousar , an MBA International Business student, and I am honored to present my candidacy for student union officer in the upcoming student union elections. Having served as the Master's Program Representative in my first year and currently holding the position of President for both the Indian Society and the MBA Society, I am committed to advocating for your needs and concerns.
1. Improved Transportation Support: One of my primary goals is to address the rising cost of living. If elected, I will launch a campaign for free Oyster card recharge for university students. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burdens associated with commuting, making education more accessible to all.
2. Affordable Campus Dining: Recognizing the challenges posed by the high cost of living, I pledge to ensure free breakfast or highly discounted food options on campus. This initiative aims to provide affordable and nutritious meal choices, promoting the well-being of our student community.
3. Enhanced Academic Support: Building on my experience as the Masters Program Representative, I will work to record all lectures and tutorials. This way, students who miss classes won't miss out on valuable content. These recordings will also serve as excellent revision resources, ensuring that every student has the tools for academic success.
4. Expanded Sports Facilities: I am committed to enhancing the overall well-being of our student body. As part of this commitment, I will strive to increase sports facilities on campus, providing more opportunities for physical activity, recreation, and a healthier lifestyle.
5. Comprehensive Mental Health Support: Your mental health is a priority. I will work towards expanding mental health support services, ensuring that every student has access to resources and assistance when needed. Together, we can create a campus environment that fosters both academic and emotional well-being.
6. Student Empowerment and Entrepreneurship: To promote student talents and provide earning opportunities, I propose organizing regular stalls expos. This initiative will allow students to showcase their talents and potentially earn income, fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and creativity.
7. Extended Student Working Hours: I will actively support the campaign to extend student working hours from 20 to 40 hours per week. This extension aims to alleviate financial challenges, empowering students to manage their living costs more effectively.
8.Volunteering and Community Service: Expand Volunteer Opportunities: I will work to create more volunteering opportunities within and outside the university, allowing us to give back to the community and develop valuable skills.
9.Entrepreneurship and Career Development: Entrepreneurship Support Programs: Given my goal to become an entrepreneur, I will introduce programs and workshops to foster entrepreneurial skills among students. This includes mentorship programs and networking events with successful entrepreneurs.
