University of Greenwich Palestine Society

Our aims are to create a safe and welcoming environment for all students to clear misconceptions, educate students and create awareness about the affairs of Palestine.

Who are we?

The UOG Palestine Society aims to create awareness, clear misconceptions and educate students about the affairs of Palestine. We aim to host meet and greet events, regular weekly events such as Palestine 101, Speaker Visits, Educational Film Screenings, Traditional Embroidery workshops, and social events too. Our aims are to create a safe and welcoming environment for all students to clear misconceptions and educate students and create awareness about the affairs of Palestine.
For over 70 years, the Palestinian people have been subject to a brutal regime of colonisation, ethnic cleansing, and, now recognised by the likes of Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, apartheid. From child detainment and checkpoints, to forced evictions and restricted access to basic resources, the Palestinian plight has been condemned by human rights organisations and callers to justice the world over. But no movement for justice can be mobilised without its people - here's were we come in. We are a group of students passionate about the Palestinian cause and working towards its interests. The Palestine Society is a productive space that sees student allies join forces in advocating for and upholding the Palestinian right to basic humanity - we look forward to having you join us in the good fight against illegal occupation and standing against settler colonialism!
