GSU Officers

Greenwich Students' Union Officers have been keeping busy this term. Not only have they had to continue with Covid-19 support, but they have been busy delivering their manifesto points and working on matters that truly matter to students.

GSU President - Bilal Ijaz

There's been four key areas of work for Bilal. 

Cultural Inclusivity

  • Winter Celebration - 200 care packages given to students in halls over the winter break and a range of online activitiies
  • Global Week - workshops for International students, as well as social networking between international and cultural Societies
  • International student support paper

Academics and Champions

  • Meeting the Heads of School
  • National Student Survey task force - highlighting good practice and areas of improvement
  • Student Led Teaching Awards 
  • Attending people leader induction

Avery Hill

  • Temporary reception in The Dome to become more accessibile 
  • Working on Phase 2 & 3 developement to The Dome

Other work

  • Supporting recruitment of key positions in the University and Students' Union
  • University Mental Health Day workshop
  • No Detriment policy
  • Strategic refresh for the University
  • Extenuating Circumstances live Question and Answer with the Advice Term

  • Breaking Barriers - supporting Black students
