The Globe; a place of history, drama and art. This is your opportunity to see the inner workings of a Shakespearean theatre and experience one of the Bards’ most famous performances - Othello - as our ancestors would have originally.
The Society of Dramatic Arts (SODA) will be taking you on a tour of The Globe, into an historical exhibition and then to the showing of a fantastic performance of this tragic 1603 play. You can experience art, London and meet new people for only £10. Don’t miss out! Members of SODA will be on hand at all times to assist with transport for those who are not yet familiar with the London transportation system (maps and itinerary will also be provided).
A packed meal is preferred (no cans or glass allowed) however, there are shops and cafes nearby. In order to get to the Globe, we will be setting out as a group from the University at 14:30. As we are taking the DLR, don’t forget your Oyster Card or Contactless Card! (please get in touch at activities@gre.ac.uk if you don’t know how to get one).
This excursion has been organised and will be led by SODA. We are a brand new society that is dedicated to drama and theatre in its many forms. We welcome all members from different course and all walks of life - with or without theatre knowledge. We aim to put on serious and fun shows as well as “SODA Pops”! For any further information, please don’t hesitate to email us at: soda.sugreenwich@gmail.com.
