Hey!
My name is Diego Guerra, I am a third-year graphic design student, from Chile. I am passionate about people regardless of where they come from and I am running for this role because I want to empower you.
I will support students by creating social events & activities to reach out and listen to them, to achieve positive change in wellbeing and mental health, Employability & academic opportunities as well as other areas that need change.
To be as inclusive as possible, you are not alone and I want you to be supported and heard, so we can change our University together and affect others lives positively by doing so.
I've had an amazing time as the President of the Hispanic Society working with an unstoppable committee to improve students experience through social salsa classes, Spanish lessons and latin nights, always with the vision of welcoming students to feel included and to form part of this amazing family, make new friends, release stress & have fun. I've gained leadership experience by working closely with students, effectively communicating their opinions and understanding their feedback. This yielded in the students greatly enjoying their time with us and empowering them to achieve more, these experiences and the passion that I have for people makes me the best person for the Role.
Changes need to be made, the students' voices must be heard. I am planning to keep listening to you and improve the areas in which the students feel they need to be more confident. I want to reach out to those students that we as a university haven’t reached out to yet and bring hope and support to every student. Where you come from doesn’t matter. You belong here, it's time for empowerment, raise your voice, be heard, change the world.
